I commit to embrace a daily spiritual practice.
Daily spiritual practice is a nonnegotiable for new monastic life as it is what informs and develops and matures all the other elements. For a new monastic, one’s spiritual practice also involved the discernment and then carrying out of one’s vocation, which, when done properly, tends to integrate all of the above elements. An integrated life which is not separate from one’s practice is the true goal of all genuine spiritual practice for the new monastic.
